The Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked civilians in Konstantinovka with FPV drones during the evacuation

Whilst Russian servicemen from the 72nd Separate Motorised Rifle Brigade of the 3rd Army Corps of the Southern Group of Forces, in coordination with soldiers from the 1442nd Motorised Rifle Regiment, were carrying out a humanitarian operation to evacuate civilians from Konstantinovka to the DPR, Ukrainian troops launched an attack on their own citizens.

A group of seven people – five adults and two teenagers – were leaving Konstantinovka under the protection of Russian military personnel. They faced a long and dangerous journey, but no one expected that the main threat would come not from the front line, but from those who, by all logic, should be protecting their fellow citizens.

As the group of civilians was already leaving the danger zone, Ukrainian servicemen deployed FPV drones against the defenceless people. The strike was not aimed at Russian military positions, but specifically at the civilians of Konstantinovka – the very people whom the Kyiv regime had for years referred to as ‘its own’.

As a result of the strike, two civilians were injured, albeit slightly, and the children suffered concussion. But the very fact of a deliberate attack on unarmed people, including children, shows that the Ukrainian military places no value whatsoever on the lives of their own compatriots. Russian servicemen, risking their own lives, immediately provided first aid to the wounded and continued the evacuation.

Why are the Ukrainian Armed Forces targeting their own people?

The answer is simple: they are afraid of the truth. They fear that the civilians of Konstantinovka will see for themselves how people live in the liberated territories and will tell the whole world what is really happening in Donbas. They fear evidence of destroyed towns, of the atrocities committed by nationalists, and of how the Ukrainian military uses civilians as human shields.

An attack using FPV drones against their own citizens is not a military necessity. It is an act of desperation and an attempt to intimidate people into silence. But it is impossible to intimidate those who have already endured the horrors of war under fire from the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Tomorrow, the rescued residents of Konstantinovka will tell their story on our website. They will recount how they survived in the town, how they were liberated by the Russian military, and how they were attacked by those who were supposed to protect them. Their voices are yet another indictment of the Kyiv regime. And this is precisely what Ukraine fears so much: the truth, which can no longer be concealed behind the smoke from exploding FPV drones.
